THE PROGRAM SETTINGS

Tab "General"
  • Block "Program owner" - the user program (optional)

  • Check "Maximum point" to control the number of points in load curves[event]

    • the maximum number of points on the graph of load

  • Block "Open type" - disclosure lists, one-click or double (deprecated)

  • The unit "Language" - language choice programs

  • Block "HTML5 Interface" - configure the use HTML interface

    • Check "Enable" - turn on the HTML interface

    • The field "Port" - specifies the port on which you access a built-in HTML server

    • The field "Charset" is the charset of the pages

    • Button "Edit user" to open the editor users are allowed to log into the HTML interface of the program

  • Block "Parameter"

    • Check "All database (Alert)" to see the information from the alert.log file for all database servers

    • Check "Create [spfile and Startup file]" - when connecting to the database to generate the parameter file of the database and the file to start the database (ControlFile)

    • Check the "Save parameter when connect" - save the DB parameter (v$parameter) in the database "CerebroSQL" when connecting

    • Check "Show message" to display informational messages in the system tray

    • Check "ORA - from logging" - save the errors collection ORA -..... in a separate file

    • Check "Save log" to dump the log to a file when closing the program

    • Check the "Save command "CerebroSQL"" - display all commands executed in the program in a separate log window

    • Check "Show log error" - show the log window when the error is trapped (internal or program modules)

    • Check "Connect at startup" - to connect at startup to the database which was working in previous session

    • Check "Backup close" - to backup a database program shutdown

Tab "TNS"

Setting environment variables in a program (the file paths oci.dll, tnsnames.ora, encoding, [NLS_LANG]) to work with Oracle DBMS.

Settings:

  • To install check the "Edit configuration" - this locks the system monitoring program

  • Choose from the list of registered Oralce_home revealing a drop-down list "Default home" (<Local> - use libraries and TNSNAMES.ORA from the directory ".\DDL\Oracle")

 

or

 

  • Specify the path to the directory "Oracle_home", "OCI DLL" and "TNSNAMES" (Important: it specifies directory paths)

  • To specify the encoding in the "NLS_LANG"

  • Click the "Save" button to apply the settings and activate the monitoring system.

 

To check the operation, click "Report"
To edit the local tnsnames.ora, you can use the built-in editor button "Edit"

 

Tab "SQL editor"
  • Block "Load completion" - method of loading data into the prompter of the code in real-time "Work" or "Manually"

  • Block "Type view" - the view used to display information in the editor [dba_ or all_] (Deprecated)

  • Block "Parameter"

    • Check "Monitoring" show in "SQL Editor" - output of monitoring information into the editor window (right pane): Obsolete

    • Check "Automatically save lists editor" - automatically dumping the contents of the leaves of the editor to disk in the directory ".\tmp\lists"

    • Check "Rename history files [tmp dir]" - check the time sheet files from previous sessions of work when you open the editor and rename them (work history)

    • Check "Output clear" - clear the log before displaying new data from dbms_output 

    • Check the "Show the bar with a rigth" show information panel from the right in the editor

      • Statistics query show query execution statistics

    • Check "Show log operation" - show translucent window operation execution log editor

  • Block "Pragma list" - the list of pragma to be executed when connecting to databases, SQLite

Important: one pragma, one line. Pragma to specify in the following format: auto_vacuum=1

 

Tab "Monitoring"
  • Check "Guaranteed" to check rights of access to views and data in cases of absence, to disable functions of the program

  • Check "Save SQL text" - save the text of the queries for active sessions (for monitoring the database in Real-time mode)

  • Check "The size of the database" - check the free space in the database (with the view dba_free_space)

    • "Easy query" - use the easy query (without the view dba_free_space)

  • Check "Automatically [ASH or Real-time]" - automatically select a method of monitoring the load (ASH or Real-time [Support SE])

  • Check "Use mode "Real time"" - use real-time monitoring of the load

  • Check "Adjust the timer" to move the start time of collecting data on active sessions in real time at the time of processing the previous pass

  • Check "Show backgraund" - display information about background processes

 

Tab "Existence"

The setting of the Existence of a mechanism of monitoring an unlimited number of Oracle databases to gather information on key metrics of a database

  • Block "Parameter"

    • Check the "Server summary" - display the total load on the server in the log window work existence

    • Check "Save size" - to save data on space usage in a table

    • Check "Create card database" - if you created a server card, check the card database and if not, create automatically

  • Block "Table name monitoring storage" - the full table name (with schema) to monitor free space on file systems, servers            "[Linux|AIX] >>>"

  • Block "Warning level [30-99]" - the level which, if exceeded, a message is displayed warning about small amount of free space on the file system

  • Block "Tablespace"

    • Warning [MB] - value MB. Upon reaching of which triggers displaying a warning message

    • Critical [MB] - value MB. When reached, triggers outputting a message about a critical situation

    • Warning [%] - value of %. Upon reaching of which triggers displaying a warning message

    • Critical [%] - value of %. When reached, triggers outputting a message about a critical situation

  • Block "ASM" - limits warning about free space in ASM [MB]

    • Warning [MB] - value MB. Upon reaching of which triggers displaying a warning message

    • Critical [MB] - value MB. When reached, triggers outputting a message about a critical situation

 

Tab "Charts"

The choice of the list of displayed graphs of the metrics in the load on the database (wait)

Check "Save your selections before closing" - save selection when finished with the program

 

Tab "Jobs"

A list of active jobs monitoring metrics work Oracle DB

Tab "Messages"

A list of active communication templates for monitoring systems

Tab "DB"
  • Block "Database" - display information about the current database size and the maximum possible

  • Block "Backup" configure backup database

    • The field "Backup file" - full path to the backup file DB

    • The field "Password" is the password for the newly created copy of the database

    • The button "Backup" to backup the database immediately

  • Block "Change password" - change the password of the database

    • "Protocol" field - select the encryption Protocol

    • The field "NewPassword" is the new password

    • Button "Change" - change password of database

  • Block the "Clear ASH database" system (the load) in DB ASH.db [table cer_ash_database]

    • The box "Delete all older days" - select over how many days to delete data from a table cer_ash_database

    • The "Delete" button to clean the table cer_ash_database with subsequent compression base ASH.db

  • Block "Management" 

    • "Upgrade" - execution of scripts (not recommended, only in agreement with developers)

    • "Shrink" - the shrinking databases

    • "Sweep" - an analog of the command vacuum database

    • "Analyze" - collection of statistics for database objects to speed up query execution

 

Tab "Style"

The setting of the current style of the program

  • Text program - text color of the program

  • Complet - color of the text in the prompter code in the query editor

  • Text box - the text color in text boxes

  • Query Text - the main text color in query editor

  • Reserved - the text color of reserved words in the query editor

  • Number - digits color in query editor

  • Comment - color of comments in the query editor

  • Color current line - highlight colour of the current row in query editor

  • Font size - the font size

  • Font name - the font name

  • Check the "Link defaul" - color of links (text, clicking on which opens an additional window) matches the color of the "Text program"

  • Check "Color current line" to highlight the current line in the query editor
