Card Server/Databases

Card Server/Databases - an accounting mechanism to control the distribution of databases across servers, as well as store information on infrastructure, working scripts, login and password

Filling the directories necessary to support the work of the mechanism of "Card Server/Databases"

  • Open a "visual database editor Cerebro"

  • Go to the tab "Catalog"

  • Complete reference:

    • Table "area" - area location server [address, the name of the room]

    • Table "mode" - database mode [eg: archivelog, noarchivelog, ...]

    • Table "DB role" - a database role [eg: primary, standby, archive]

    • Table "Script type" - type of the script [for example: sh, sql]

    • Table "Script type run" - type of start-up [for example: crontab, scheduler]

    • Table "Domain" - server domain name

    • Table"Oracle type" type of the installed version of Oracle [eg: Enterprise, Standart]

    • Table "Oracle version" - the version of the Oracle instance

    • Table "OS type" - type of operating system [eg: Windows, Linux, AIX]

    • Table "OS version" - version of the operating system installed

    • Table "Point type" - for which purposes the plate [eg: datafile, REDO, data, ...]

    • Table "Processor" - the type of processor

    • Table "Server role" - as a server [eg: database, Application, ...]

Creating a server cards

Select "New" in the line "Server" block
Items marked * are required

  • Specify the server name in the "Name" field *

  • Select from the drop down list of "Domain" domain server *

  • Specify the server's IP address in the "IP" field *

  • Select from the drop down list of "Area" location server platform *

  • Select from the drop down list of "Server type" server type *

  • Select from the drop down list of "Server role" as a server (for example: database, application, ...) *

  • Specify the server model in the "Model"

  • Specify the serial number of the server in the "Serial number"

  • Specify Server ProductID in the "ProductID"

  • Select from the drop down list of "OS type" type of server operating system *

  • Select from the drop down list of "OS version" version of the operating system *

  • Select from the drop down list of "Processor" installed processor *

  • Specify the number of sockets on the server (the number of physical processors) in "Socet" field *

  • Specify the number of physical cores on a single processor installed server in the "CPU" *

  • In the case of Multithreading processor options, install a check "Multithreading" (If you select this check meant x2 multiplier. The value is hardwired in the code, it is not possible to edit!) *

  • Specify the amount of physical memory installed on the server in the "Memory [MB]" *

  • Golf "Memory [Free]" information, the button is used to free memory count on the server using the data from the database of cards

  • Specify the server administrator's name

  • Click the "Save" button

Important! Snap disks, Oracle_home made to the saved card!

Snap installed versions of Oracle server
  • Select the server stored in the list "Server"

  • Press the "+" button in the header block "Oracle version install"

  • From the drop-down list of "Home version" select Oracle database version installed on the server

  • From the drop-down list "Type instance" select the type of the installed version of Oracle

  • In the "Home path" to enter the installation path (ORACLE_HOME)

  • Click the "Add" button to associate records

To remove a previously bound "Oracle home" to select it in the list of "Oracle version install" and choose in the context menu "Delete"

Snap disk to the card
  • In the block "Storage" click the "+"

  • In the field "Storage name" enter the name of the drive

  • From the drop-down list "Type" select the type of disc (its purpose, the purpose of the use of an example: Datafile, archivelog, REDO)

  • Specify the mount point of the disc in the "Point"

  • Specify mount disk path in the "Path"

  • Specify the disk size in the "Size (GB)"

  • Add comment (optional)

  • Click the "Save" button to save the information

To remove a previously bound drive, select it in the list of "Storage" and select "Delete" from the context menu, or double-click on the disk and the disk will open the editor, press "Delete" button

Linking accounts to the server

To link accounts select the server name in the list of "Server" and click on the link "[Users]"

  • Enter your user name in the "User name"

  • Enter the user password in the "Password"

  • Add a comment in the "Comment" (optional)

  • Click the "Save" button

To remove the bound user select "User list" line in the list and click "Delete"

 

Create cards "Databases"

To create a database of cards identify the server in the list of "Server" and click on the link "[Database]"

Create cards
  • In the "Database list" Highlight "New"

  • From the drop-down list of "Connect" to select the saved connection (not necessary, but desirable!)

  • In the "Database" field, enter the name of the database or expand the list and choose from the list of saved connections

When choosing from the list of entry has the form <username> @ <database alias>, but while retaining part of the "<username> @" will be discarded

  • Fill in the field "Unique" - a unique database name

  • From the drop-down menu "Version" select the version of the database (in this list shows a list attached to the server Oracle_home card)

  • From the drop-down list "Type" select the type of Oracle installation

  • From the drop-down list "Mode" to select the database mode (Archivelog, Noarchivelog)

  • From the drop-down list of "Role" select the database role (Primary, Standby, Test)

  • Populate the "Standby" if necessary. Field plain text, the format string is not monitored

  • In the "SGA" enter the amount of memory available to the SGA for the database (database of parameters)

  • In the "PGA" enter the amount of memory available for the PGA area for DB (database of parameters)

  • In the "Memory target" enter the amount of memory specified by the parameter "Memory target" for the database (in case!)

  • In the "Port" specify the Listener Port

  • Add a comment to the database in the "Comment"

  • Click the "Save" button to save the card

Create a contact list for the database
  • Select a card stored in the list "Database list"

  • In the "Contact" section click on the "+" button

Drop-down list "List saved contact" to select a previously saved contacts

Creating a new contact
  • Enter in the field "FIO" last name, first name, patronymic

  • Enter in the "Position" the position

  • Enter in the "Subdivision" division

  • Enter in the "Phone" field phone

  • Enter in the field "E-Mail" e-mail address

  • Add a comment in the "Comment"

  • Click the "Save" button to save the contact to the binding database

Snap Server disk database
  • In the block "Storage" click on the "+" button

  • Place checks next to the bindable discs

  • Click the "Save" button

A list of users
  • Select DB card in the list of "Database list"

  • Click the link "[Users]"

  • Fill in the field "User name"

  • Fill in the field "Password"

  • Add a comment in the "Comment" (yne required)

  • Click the "Save" button

Removing a user
  • Select the user in the list "List saved user"

  • Click the "Delete" button

SPFile
  • When the installation check "SPFile and StartupFile [Establish a connection with the]" in the program settings in the "Card database" window can view the database parameter file

  • Select a card stored in the list "Database list"

  • Click on the link "[SPFile]"

Control file

When the installation check "SPFile and StartupFile [Establish a connection with the]" in the program settings in the window "Card database" view available commands for controlling the database file rebuilding

  • Select a card stored in the list "Database list"

  • Click on the link "[Startup file]"

Database parameter list

When you install a check "Save parameter when connect" in the program settings in the "Card database" window is available to view all database parameters stored program

  • Select a card stored in the list "Database list"

  • Click on the link "[Parameter]"

Browse the database for monitoring statistics

To view monitoring statistics database click on the link "[Statistics]". Data collected for the window mechanism "Existence"

Linking scripts to the server card
  • Select the server card in the list of "Server"

  • Click the link "[Scripts]"

To select a script from the "Script collection program", click on the "+" button and from the drop-down list to select the desired script

  • In the "Script mapping list" Highlight "New"

  • From the drop-down menu "Database" to select the database for which the script is used (if a general purpose script, leave the field blank)

  • From the drop-down list "Type run" select the way to run a script

  • From the drop-down list of "User run" select the user under which the script

  • In the "Code" to enter the shorthand script

  • In the field "Caption" to enter a description of the script

  • In the "Scritp text" enter the text of the script

  • Click the "Save" button to save the changes
